Coloration of Candles

Candles normally consist of pure stearin, pure paraffin wax or mixtures of the two. Colored candles are produced either by mass coloration or dip coloration. In the former instance the entire candle compound from which the candles are moulded or drawn is colored. In the latter case the colored coating is applied to the uncolored candle by dipping. Clariant has a wide range of solvent dyes and pigments which can be used for candle coloration.
