Clariant is the world's largest producer of red phosphorus, and offers a wide range of grades suited to meet the most exacting requirements. Clariant's specialty grades of red phosphorous are used in the manufacture of safety matches for the striking surfaces of matchboxes (skillets) and matchbooks.

The Clariant experience is reflected in the processing know-how and stabilization technology which allows the preparation of red phosphorus in a wide range of physical forms (powder, pellet, dispersions and concentrates) which are designed to improve the handling and dosing characteristics.
