Cosmetic Waxes from Clariant

For more than seven decades, Clariant has supplied a wide range of waxes for many different industries and applications.

In most decorative cosmetic formulations waxes are an essential ingredient. They stabilize the shape of decorative pencils or sticks and adjust the viscosity of creamy products.

Ultrafine powders improve skin feeling and spreadability of creams, sticks and powders. For this purpose some of Clariant's Ceridust types containing mixtures of PTFE and polyethylene wax are highly recommended.

The PTFE containing Ceridust types are also used in nail enamel to improve the slip and appearance.

Furthermore, polyethylene wax powders are a good choice for peeling products. The wax particles gently smooth the surface of the skin and are especially suitable for delicate and sensitive skin types.

The abrasive effect of polyethylene wax powders is also used in toothpaste. Due to the comparable low hardness the powders are particularly qualified for toothpaste for sensitive teeth by providing a good cleaning performance.

Wax emulsions can serve as a solubilizer in skin cleaning products or as a gloss modifyer in hair care and styling products.

The following tables contain a selection of products especially recommended for cosmetics.
Included in Clariant's extensive wax portfolio is a range of products with different particle size or mixing ratio.

Please do not hesitate to contact our experts for additional product and application recommendations as other Clariant waxes, not listed, may perfom better in your specific application.
